The taste of Zen prefers something like this - the simplest landscape imaginable, something we might ordinarily pass without notice. A creek is winding through the sand hills of a beach - just such a creek as one may see anywhere on a thousand beaches. There is nothing in the least particular. But it has what in Zen is called the virtue of "wu-shih" or "nothing special."
